The brief
Dove House Hospice needed a website that could help raise awareness not only about what they do but also their local shops and community events, which are vital for helping them raise the funds they need to provide their care. They had a newly refreshed brand, boasting bold colours and a more modern aesthetic as the first step to improving awareness, so now it was the website’s turn to undergo an equally vibrant transformation to help them do even more.
The objective
This new website needed to introduce their new brand to their digital presence. It needed to support their fundraising efforts across all their community touch points: their events, their charity shops and their digital fundraising strategies too. In short, the new Dove House Hospice needed to become the core platform in their organisation’s mission to keep caring for people with life-limiting illnesses in Hull and the East Riding.
What we did
Our design team started by embracing Dove House Hospice’s newly created brand guidelines and used this as the inspiration for a bolder, brighter and more modern website design. The team at the hospice are award winning, so our designs took care to showcase this throughout the design of the new site. Curves were used as a recurring motif, to provide creative consistency throughout the UI, as well as adding some design flare to the final designs, inspired by the hospice’s logo.
Giving Dove House Hospice’s fundraising the edge, Raisers Edge
The new Dove House Hospice was built using the latest version of the Kentico CMS. This gave internal teams the flexibility they needed to produce new content on-demand, such as fundraising campaign pages, and make continuous improvements the site overall. To extend the power of their Kentico website even further though, we also successfully integrated it with Raisers Edge. This nonprofit CRM software is vital to the hospice’s fundraising efforts, allowing them to nurture and manage their supporter relationships. Now, contact information for new supporters captured on the website, could be automatically passed into Raisers Edge, to enable their team to follow up in a timely and relevant manner, to help grow those contacts into valuable supporters.
