The brief
When we first met Steeper Group, they had an old, static website. It wasn’t responsive, it didn’t meet current best practices, it didn’t showcase the global scale of their business… in short, it wasn’t a good digital representation of who Steeper Group are and what they do.
Our brief was to transform this one website, into four new, fully responsive, CMS driven websites that elevated their digital footprint to a standard befitting their brand. These four websites would be a UK website, a US website, a Steeper Clinics website and a dedicated site for their specialist, world-renowned centre, The London Prosthetic Centre.
The objective
To create a modern website design with global appeal, creating consistency across the four new websites we needed to build. The content and user experience across the websites needed to effectively communicate and relate to both the end users of Steeper’s products (patients and families) as well as the medical professionals and specialists recommending their products and services (doctors, therapists and other medical professionals).
Steeper Group wanted their new websites to be visually appealing, focused on what their products and services empower their end users to do, not what the product itself is and outline the quality, history and experience of the Steeper Group.
What we did
The four websites were split into two projects, one for the UK and US sites and another for the clinic websites, based on the similarities and differences between templates. Kentico was the chosen CMS for Steeper Group, and all four sites sit in the same Kentico instance, streamlining the website maintenance and content entry for their internal marketing teams.
An ecommerce-led design
We took an ecommerce led approach to the design and user experience of the website, especially where orthotic and prosthetic products are showcased. Multiple product images and key product details are showcased in an easily digestible digital format, reminiscent of product information on the best ecommerce sites.
Meanwhile more detailed, technical information and extensive product catalogues are available as downloads, allowing users to research at their own pace and share key information easily. This use of progressive disclosure allows the Steeper Group website to maintain a clean, minimal, professional design aesthetic, while still accommodating and presenting substantial, detailed content.
