The objective

BELL Lighting needed to futureproof their digital sales with an entirely new ecommerce website that allowed them to increase the total percentage of orders taken online and continue their impressive revenue growth.

Core objectives included optimised mobile responsiveness, improved site performance and to enhance an already complex set of integrations.

On top of the core platform were requirements for more complex and bespoke offers, new customer tools / calculators and improved latency of stock data.

What we did

Using Kentico CMS as the underlying engine for the website we designed and built a fully integrated, highly automated and scalable ecommerce platform.

The website is fully integrated with both BELL’s bespoke ERP for stock levels, unique pricing and order processing; as well as their chosen PIM for up-to-date product data.

The site is highly automated with customer specific pricing updated daily, near-real-time stock updates, API redundancy flows and automated alternative products for discontinued products.

ERP Integration

The website has direct and secure integration with BELL’s ERP. Via automated tasks it will pull information such as stock levels, price lists (per customer), delivery lead times and alternative products.

In return, all orders including unique POs and delivery addresses are pushed back into the system in real-time to be processed by BELL’s expert fulfilment team.

Discounts and offers

BELL’s way of working means that ‘off-the-shelf’ discounts wouldn’t work and an entirely bespoke solution was needed.

Using granular permissions, BELL’s team can create offers and discounts down to specific products, product groups and individual customers.

Head-office based managers can also have monitoring accounts to report on how the store-level teams are using offers on purchases.

Product stock levels are never more than 10 minutes out of date and delivery schedules are updated twice daily.
